CEU Course Description

Ankle sprains are among the most common musculoskeletal injuries encountered in clinical practice, affecting both athletes and the general population. This course provides physical therapists and rehabilitation professionals with a clear, practical approach to understanding and managing ankle sprains, from anatomy and injury mechanisms to evidence-based treatment protocols. Participants will review the key anatomy, biomechanics, and common causes of ankle sprains, and learn how various factors increase the risk of injury. This course will cover the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and expected outcomes for both acute and chronic sprains, offering tools for accurate assessment and effective decision-making. Learners will also explore evidence-based treatment and prevention strategies, including manual therapy, neuromuscular training, proprioceptive exercises, bracing, and return-to-sport guidelines. The focus will be on applying current research in real-world clinical settings to improve recovery times, restore function, and reduce the risk of reinjury.
