CEU Course Description

Physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) in the state of Pennsylvania and the rest of the United States must be well informed on practice laws, ethical principles, and requirements to practice physical therapy competently. Pennsylvania physical therapy is regulated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy and by the Pennsylvania State Practice Act. This course will discuss the different regulations surrounding physical therapy practice in Pennsylvania, ethical standards and principles, and how modern communication deliveries impact physical therapy care. The course will also mention different ways to represent the profession by holding up core values such as integrity, compassion, and respect, and discuss various ethical scenarios. 

CEU Course Objectives

  1. Summarize jurisprudence and licensure requirements for physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in the state of Pennsylvania 
  2. Review ethical concerns and solutions that impact the practice and delivery of physical therapy services in the United States
  3. Identify the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, texting, and telehealth on the practice of physical therapy across Pennsylvania and the rest of the United States
