CEU Course Description
This CE course provides medical treatment guidelines for physical therapists for carpal tunnel syndrome as they relate to: general guideline principles; history taking and physical examination; making the diagnosis; non-operative treatment procedures; and surgery. This course is based on an article by the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Discuss how treatment failure is at times attributable to an incorrect diagnosis and the events that should take place if this occurs.
2. Enumerate the goals that should be incorporated in an active therapeutic exercise program.
3. Investigate the sources of carpal tunnel syndrome that physical therapists should be aware of.
4. Elucidate the items that patient education should be comprised of.
