CEU Course Description

Coccydynia is a painful and incapacitating condition in the early post-partum period.  The goal of this CEU course is to determine the effect of Muscle Energy Technique (MET) in treating post-partum coccydynia. This course is based off of an open access article from the Journal of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.

CEU Course Objectives

  1. Discuss why MET may be better than other techniques in decreasing pain.
  2. Explain how the function of any articulation of the body which can be moved by voluntary muscle action can be influenced by MET.
  3. Investigate which techniques alter perception of pain.
  4. Examine how MET aims to normalize soft tissue structures.
