CE Credit Hours: 3.00 Continuing Education Credit Hours
CEU Course Description
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease and is associated with reduced physical capacity and quality of life. The goal of this CEU course is to investigate if a short-term endurance or combined endurance / resistance exercise program is sufficient to improve aerobic capacity and maximum force in adult patients with MS. Also explored is the impact of high intensity interval or continuous cardiovascular exercise, both in combination with resistance training, on muscle contractile characteristics, in terms of muscle fiber CSA / proportion, muscle strength and muscle mass, and on endurance capacity in MS. This course is based on articles by the International Journal of Molecular Sciences and PLOS ONE.
