CEU Course Description
Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders are a group of conditions that cause pain and dysfunction in the jaw joint and the muscles that control jaw movement. Due to the association with imbalance of the whole body, the goal of this CEU course is to evaluate the influence of temporomandibular dysfunction therapy on cervical spine range of movement and reduction of spinal pain. Also investigated is the correlation among neck disability, jaw dysfunction, and muscle tenderness in subjects with and without chronic TMD.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Enumerate which irreversible treatments have not been proven to be effective and may make the problem worse.
2. Investigate which forms of treatment experts strongly recommend using.
3. Identify the most common symptom linked to TMJ disorders.
4. Describe which muscles are shown to be more sensitive during mechanical and thermal pain tests.
